Generations Of Cell Phones

Nowadays mobile communication is common channel of communication. Every person is very familiar to using of this source, even he is educated or not. Mobile phone is harp source of global communication as it was predicted one day it will overcome all communication sources now becoming true. As we know that mobile phone or cell phone is a device use to make and receive calls, send and receive messages and it was basic purpose of invention of mobile. The mobile works on the radio frequencies.

O- Generation of the mobile phone:The zero generation mobile phones are also regarded as pre-generation of mobile or Cell phone generation. In the zero generation mobile generation the mobile are not so much popular because these are large in size and costly. The mobile that firstly has been introduced in this generation are called Stationary because these Stationary are fixed on the particular areas such as on Railway Station or simply they are lacking in mobility. As for special concern these mobiles were going for change or shrink in size of mobile. Later on Transportable Mobile Telephone (TMT) mobile phones have been introduced which furnished a flexibility of mobility. Even though the size of mobile reduced but the features are remained same. After that Portable Mobile Telephone (PMT) phones become more popular because these phones reduced a lot in size along the facility of the portability.Very soon the Brick Size Mobile (BST) phones are coming long with different features. These feature set a plan for later innovation in Cellular Technology. In a very short time of BST the new easier mobile phones are launched named as Pocket Size Telephone (PST). Basically it is recognized as handheld Telephone.

O.5 Generation of the mobile phones:After the Zero Generation of the Cell phone there is need of an ultimate featured phone that is created and was using the technologies such as Mobile Telephone System (MTS) that serve like Push to talk and walkie talkie services. Then later on MTS has been improved further in Improved Mobile Telephone System (IMTS). In this Technology there are many channels for subscribers.

1-Generation of the mobile phones:This generation lies in Analog Technology because it was working on FDMA technology. In FDMA each subscriber was connected by assigned frequencies. The concept of Cell phone was introduced in this generation. The mobile Phones of this generation has only send voice but for an Short Messaging Service (SMS) people were using Pagers Separately because the mobile phones only support one type of the information that is “Voice” At that era people were used to carry two devices in pocket for two different communication purpose. One was mobile for voice communication and second was pager for text messaging.

1.5-Generation of the mobile phones: The concept of this generation took birth because people were tired to carry two devices same time. In this generation both devices merged into one that provided the flexibility of coping the two sorts of information at the same time (Voice conversation and text message based on ONLY 14 characters), the operation of making this merge was successful. This merge was known by a key word “full duplex” and device itself is called Narrow band Advance Mobile Phone Service (N-AMPS).

2-Generation of the mobile phones:This Generation introduced the digital technology and smart phone. The main work in this generation was improving the message services, which was improved from fourteen characters to 160 characters. Groupie Speciale mobilie (GSM) later on translated into English “Global System Mobile communication”. There are different frequencies are used by different countries as there standard set. Some of standard frequencies are 900MHz was used in USA now they are working on 1900 MHz and 450 MHz used by Japan. These are called GSM but in USA, they are known as Digital Mobile Service (DMS) In this generation the FDMA was replaced by TDMA in which call becomes in encrypted format that no one can receive or tap your call. In TDMA there are 32 slots were used for communication purpose of which two were synchronization (working simultaneously) and rest of them were respond to maintain quality of conversation.

3-Generation of the mobile phone:In this generation the Universal Mobile Telephone System (UMTS) became familiar to us. With the help of this service, all users have universal frequencies through which they are being connected. This UMTS is patched to CDMA that gives enhanced flexibility to the subscribers to communicate frequently without any hurdle or noise. This generation support all sort of information with the higher band width. This higher band width was used to support Video Conferencing and MMS Services. In this generation the mobile phones served with a chip that works for Global Positioning System (GPS). This GPS helps to find out the location of the user and track the obnoxious calls

3.5-Generation of the mobile phone:This generation is known as “All Embedded in one”, it means that our smart phones becomes and supports all Services such as Text, Image, Audio and Video, cameras, recorder, radio, online services (e-mail, e-business, e-commerce), official documentation and so on….

4-Generation of the mobile phone:The mobile phones of this generation phone are called Future Mobile Phones. Japan and South- Korea are nowadays using 4-G mobile Phones; hence they are the leaders in this Future Generation Mobile Phones. The mobile of this generation are very cheap/ in expensive. It costs from the range of 500 to 800. These mobile are disposable once you use and through it whenever you want.

The phones that are laying in this category are:
Paper Phones:

Spectacle Phones

Wrist Phones

Tooth Phones

Nail Phones and so on.
