Benefits Of Fruits And Vegetables


Health is Wealth. Health is one of the greatest Blessings of ALLAH ALMIGHTY. It has been rightly said that; “A Sound Body has a Sound Mind.” Therefore, for keeping our Mind active, we must have to keep our body fit & healthy.
If Health is lost, everything is lost. Unhealthy person loses all charm & pleasure in life. Healthy man enjoys the Blessings of life in real sense & for being Healthy we should must focus on our diet, which we take. Diet is the sum of food, which is consumed by an organism. For keeping our body fit & active we need a Balanced diet. A balanced or healthy diet is one that helps in maintaining & improving our general health. In other words, Balanced diet is that which contains all the nutrients (natural compounds) in adequate proportion which is required by our body. There are a few general tips, which if, we follow our health would not deteriorate up to much extent. Among those some are quoted here; like We should take pure & simple food, instead of heavy & spicy food, we should take exercise regularly, we should have meals on proper timing, over eating should be avoided etc. But of all these, the major one, vital & strictly recommended advice by the health professionals, for maintaining our health & keeping our body sound is the usage of Fruits & vegetables in our daily diet.
Fruits & vegetables are an important part of our daily diet. They play a key role to promoting a good health. Fruits & vegetables are naturally good & contain many powerful & essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals & fibers that can help to keep us healthy. Besides, this Fruits & vegetables also contain natural nutrients like Carbohydrates & Proteins. Research shows that, they help protect us from many diseases. Compared with people who consume a diet with only small amounts of fruits and vegetables, those who eat more generous amounts as part of a healthful diet are likely to have reduced risk of chronic diseases, including stroke and perhaps other cardiovascular diseases, and certain cancers.
Vitamins & Minerals:
Fruits and vegetables contain many vitamins and minerals that are good for your health. These include vitamins A (beta-carotene), C and E, magnesium, zinc, phosphorous and folic acid. Research into folic acid shows that it may reduce blood levels of homocysteine, a substance that may be a risk factor for coronary heart disease.

Fruits and vegetables are low in fat, salt and sugar and provide a good source of dietary fibre. As part of a well-balanced, regular diet and a healthy active lifestyle, a high intake of fruit and vegetables can help:
• Reduce obesity and maintain a healthy weight
• Lower your cholesterol
• Lower your blood pressure.
Protect against diseases
Vegetables and fruit contain phytochemicals, or ‘plant chemicals’. These biologically active substances can help to protect you from some diseases. Scientific research shows that if you regularly eat lots of fruit and vegetables, you have a lower risk of:
• Type 2 diabetes
• Stroke
• Heart (cardiovascular) disease – when fruits and vegetables are eaten as food, not taken as supplements
• Cancer – some forms of cancer, later in life
• High blood pressure (hypertension).
Two fruits and five vegetables, every day
Different fruits and vegetables contain different nutrients. The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) guidelines recommend that adults eat at least five kinds of vegetable and two kinds of fruit every day.
